Central Square High School sophomore Emily Barnes' award winning photo is titled "Seasons Greetings." It is one of hundreds of works of art on display in the halls of the Whitney building as part of the Central New York Scholastic Art Show.

Whichever side of campus you're on, there is plenty of amazing art work to view. In the Whitney Applied Technology Center the best of the best from the Central New York Scholastic Art Awards is on display. Over 5,000 pieces of art from 80 to 100 schools are entered into the annual competition. They are judged by more than 70 professional artists, educators, and photographers. The winners are highlighted on all three floors of the Whitney building, which has been home to this competition since the year 2000. Pictured at the top of this story is "Seasons Greetings" by Central Square High School sophomore Emily Barnes.

On the west side of campus in the Gallery at the Ann Felton Center is an art exhibit titled "Structural Deficit." It features new paintings by Ryan Parr. He builds his work out of realistically rendered puzzle pieces, celebrating his love of painting. "I use drawings and photographs to develop elaborate compositions and methodically paint them. I aspire to have each painting materialize in a different way." Parr's exhibit is open every Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
